Welcome to the Hanover College History Department!

This winter is the 40th anniversary of the landmark television miniseries Roots, and some of our students are recreating the experience of watching that influential broadcast.  We have newspaper clippings, ads, and tv listings to share, if you’d like a window into January 1977 on the Hanover College campus.

In 1995, the Hanover History Department began a pioneering project to make primary source documents available to students and faculty around the world.
