
Frank Luttmer

- Frank Luttmer came to Hanover in 1988. He teaches Foundations of the Modern Age (His 111), Eurasia (Id 112), Western Civilization, Ancient to 1492 (His 211) and 1492-1750 (His 212), Tudor and Stuart England (His 243), The High Middle Ages (His 344), The Renaissance (His 345), The Reformation (His 346), and The Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment (His 347). In the spring, he teaches Florence in the Age of Dante and Petrarch (His 350) in Italy or The Age of the Witch Hunts (His 244) in Hanover. His most recent new course is The History of the Devil.
- Luttmer recently completed an article, "Persecutors, Tempters, and Vassals of the Devil: The Unregenerate in Puritan Practical Divinity" [Journal of Ecclesiastical History (2000) 51:37-68.] He is currently working on a book on the devil as tempter and on the struggle of early modern Christians against temptations from the "devil, world, and flesh."
