Xi Lian, who had taken a position in the History Department at Seattle Pacific University in 1999-2000, returns to Hanover as the History Department's tenure-track East Asian Historian.

Matt and Sarah Vosmeier now jointly occupy the second tenure-track position in U.S. History (in addition to Murphy).

G.M. Curtis continues to serve as a Visiting Scholar at Liberty Fund and to teach part-time at Hanover. This year, he will offer courses in the 2001 Winter Term.

Jeffrey Brautigam continues as the Director of the Center for Free Inquiry. He will teach part-time in the Department in 2000-2001.
